Swing Dances

There are dozens of dances and sub-genres of dance and music all loosely gathered together under the banner of "Swing".  The term is used broadly to include dances from the ragtime era (the beginning of the 20th century), the jazz age (1920s), the swing era (1930s and '40s) and the rock'n'roll era (1950s).

We teach two swing dances, each suitable to different speeds of music, and each with its own distinct characteristics.  But each of the styles are characterised by the essence of swing - a laid-back attitude of stylised casual lazy nonchalence.  Hey, swing is cool.
